India's decision to cut taxes on solar and wind equipment will lower costs for new plants and pressure existing project developers to reduce tariffs, accelerating the country's shift to renewable energy, industry experts said.

Cochin International Airport Limited (CIAL), which has won global acclaim for being the world’s first airport to be fully powered by solar energy, produced approximately 312 million units of solar power as of August 2023.

Globally, the number of EV charging ports is projected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 12.3% between 2026 and 2040, reaching 206.6 million units. Residential charging is expected to remain the dominant segment.
